Rules for using this guestbook.

The terms contained on this page describe acceptable use of the y2k Guestbook ("the Site"). By using the Site, you agree to these terms.

These terms are written for:

  • Guestbook commenters
  • Visitors who interact with the Original Poetry volume
  • Google account holders who sign in as admins by invite

The Service

The Site is a personal guestbook attached to an original poetry volume:

  • You may post reasonable comments that do not contain profanity to the guestbook, as long as they are not spam, scams, malware links, or illegal content.
  • You may submit an optional email address to the guestbook, which will be visible to admins only. Leave the email field blank if you prefer not to share one.
  • You may browse the poems and submit likes, which will be counted as one like per visitor per poem. Click again to unlike a poem.

Acceptable Use

You may use the Site only for lawful, non-abusive purposes. Do not:

  • Post spam, scams, malware links, or illegal content.
  • Harass others or attempt to disrupt the Site.
  • Bypass rate limits, profanity filters, or access controls.
  • Attempt to access guestbook administrative settings without authorization.
  • Scrape or overload the Site in a way that harms availability.

Your Content

  • Comments you submit (display name, message, and optional email) may be stored and shown as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Display name and message body are intended for public display on the Site.
  • Optional email is shown to admins only and is not displayed on the public guestbook. Admins will not reach out to you via email unless you request in your comment.
  • You are responsible for what you post. Do not submit content you do not have the right to share.

Accounts and Access

  • Visitors do not need an account to leave comments.
  • Admin access requires Google sign-in and an allow-listed email. Invite-only — not a public signup.
  • Admin access may be revoked by the Site owner at any time.
  • We may end sessions or remove admin rights if access is misused.

Disclaimers

The Site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind.

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect filtering, or that user content is accurate or appropriate.
  • To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the Site or from content posted by visitors.

Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Those practices are part of how the Site operates alongside these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms when the Site's features or rules change. The version on this page is the current one. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
